Fantastic hotel, given its premium location in bruges the price is anything but. I've stayed in bruges 5 times at Christmas now and this year I will once again stay at this hotel. 5 stars!

Don't expect too much from the Historium. It's certainly something to do whilst in the city but the experience falls a bit flat considering it is mainly a walkthrough of projector screens that portray a medieval love story. The bar is expensive but the view across the market square is impressive, probably the best part of the experience to be honest. The main disappointment is that the history of brugge is what I went for and ultimately what I doesn't at any stage deliver. It's a shame because with the considerable money spent this could of been fantastic. 1 and a half stars out of 5 I'm afraid.

I've stayed here in March 2010 and was very pleased with the hotel. The location is superb, right in the city centre, and we had a room overlooking the canals. Spacious and newly renovated. Highly reccommended !

Contains one of the very few Michaelangelo sculptures outside of Italy. Another great reason to visit this great city. Also check out the Basilica of the Holy Blood.
  • Railway station Brugge, Marnix (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
One of the mayor train stations in Belgium, with trains going in the directions of Blankenberge Oostende Zeebrugge Heist/Knokke Torhout/Roeselare/Kortrijk/Lille Gent/Antwerpen/Brussels SSE of the train station the factory of Bombardier is visible, where they construct trains/trams/metro's.
  • Toyo Ito pavillion, Marnix (guest) wrote 17 years ago:
This pavillion is the only modern monument in the city. Although it was constructed to stay for 1 year, it stayed there much longer. Since it is slightly damaged many voices want to remove it. The conservative local authorities would like to remove it and create there a quiet park suited for elderly people. .. which would make Brugge an even more pastiche-like medieval city.

AZ does not stand for 'Academisch Ziekenhuis' but for 'Algemeen Ziekenhuis' (General Hospital)
